JODI says Russia still world’s largest oil producer in August

MOSCOW, Oct 18 (PRIME) -- Russia reduced its average daily oil production by 0.5% on the month to 10.346 million barrels in August, remaining the world’s top oil producer, the Joint Organizations Data Initiative (JODI) said in a report on Wednesday.

Saudi Arabia’s average daily oil output fell 0.6% on the month to 9.951 million barrels in August. The country also exported 6.708 million barrels of oil per day, up 0.2% on the month. JODI did not provide the figure for Russia.

Oil refining at Saudi Arabia facilities contracted 2.5% on the month to 2.62 million barrels a day, while Russia’s refining fell 1.2% to 5.814 million barrels in August, the report read.
